Amongst the Waves.

Whilst in Vancouver in the summer I decided to go for a swim in the sea, as well as trying out my waterproof camera. The water was refreshing as it was so hot in the city during the summer. The only thing that I wasn't keen on was the amount of seaweed but that's just me. This photo was taken at second beach part of the Stanley Park coast.

Mells Waterfall.

One of my flatmates and I went on a walk around the village of Mells in Somerset to look for the abandoned iron works there. It was for her to film them as part of her final year project. I went along for the chance to take a few pictures. The site was even better than we had been expected with abandoned cottages and bits of old mill dating back about 150 years or more. Along the way we came across this pretty little waterfall.

Cold Plunge

The Fairie Pools on the Isle of Skye are gorgeous. Located in Glen Brittle and a short and not too strenuous walk from the car park these are definitely worth going to visit. To the East the pools and Glen are overlooked by the Cuillin, the largest mountain on the island. We took the stroll up to the pools, although did not go all the way. having found a pool with a reasonably easy scramble down to the water, I decided to go for a swim. The water in the pools is crystal clear, deep and absolutely freezing. It is well worth taking warm clothes with you or perhaps investing in a wet suit like the other people swimming that day.

Beautiful Rockies

Taken somewhere along Highway one in Canada. The views there are amazing and every corner brings something different to see. I have decided that if I ever get the chance; I will hire a car and drive along the Highway taking the detours off of it to go into the mountains and experience the country.

Kayaking Paradise.

Having only been in a kayak once in my life and that being in a swimming pool I wasn’t expecting to spend 5 hours in one whilst in Salmon Arm. This was such a fantastic day spent on the Shuswap. After paddling towards Canoe beach to see if we could get the hang of it we set off on a mini adventure. Along the way we spotted Bald Eagles, Ospreys in the nest, as well as fishing mere metres from our boats and a fine young buck coming down to the shore to drink. It is a day that will remain in my memory for a long time to come. We took along water and a picnic, stopping at a rocky beach, most likely only accessible by boat to have lunch and a swim to cool off from the heat of the day, before continuing on our way. Cycling the Seawall

One the best memories from 2014 was a 3 week visit to Canada, during this time I took a 3 day excursion to Vancouver. One afternoon whilst I was there on the recommendation of many travel websites I chose to hire a bike and cycle around the Stanley Park portion of the seawall.
