River Usk

Before returning home for the summer, I went on a day trip to Abergavenny. The original plan was to walk in the hills but I couldn't seem to find the start of any of the footpaths. Instead I found myself wandering along the banks of the Usk, which was very pleasant. It seemed I was in the middle of nowhere alone with the birds and the field of horses across from me. Here I stopped to take in the view behind me. The river diverted alongside rocky shores here so that the main body of water is to the left of the frame.

A surprisingly sunny day..

Last January I had a few spare days after my exams, before the new term started. So I decided to fill it with mini adventures. On the 22nd I took the coach to Swansea which I believe was less than £10 return. On arriving in the city I saw the buses were running to Caswell Bay so I hopped on one despite the slightly overcast conditions. By the time I arrived the sun was out and it was such a gloriously warm winter's day I even treated myself to an ice-cream as I walked along the coastal path.
