A peaceful place.

Peter Jannink Nature Park is an area left for nature in Salmon Arm. The nature reserve is great for bird watching. Whilst visiting we saw some red winged blackbirds and also a Golden eagle happened to fly overhead. The area is named after  Peter Jannink who converted it from a scrub land into what it is today, with the wooden walkways that take you out to the water. There is also an area in which beavers have been sighted, although I wasn't able to see them.

Pet Portrait (Shuswap)

This little trouble maker is my 9 month old kitten, Shuswap. Here she is being naughty hiding under the bed clothes. Shuswap is named after a lake in Canada where out friends live. She was born on Friday the 13th and she is a little character, down to the point that she has a curly tail which she holds up over her back.

Oxford's Camera

A short break to Oxford was taken over the Easter holidays from university. Most days were overcast and this came with rain. However we did catch some sunny interludes. I was most pleased to come across the Radcliffe camera in the sunshine, with a clear blue sky behind as it is an iconic building of the Oxford skyline. The building was built from 1737-1749 and designed by James Gibbs to house the university science library. Today it houses english and historical texts and has underground links to the Bodleian library.

Amongst the Waves.

Whilst in Vancouver in the summer I decided to go for a swim in the sea, as well as trying out my waterproof camera. The water was refreshing as it was so hot in the city during the summer. The only thing that I wasn't keen on was the amount of seaweed but that's just me. This photo was taken at second beach part of the Stanley Park coast.

Mells Waterfall.

One of my flatmates and I went on a walk around the village of Mells in Somerset to look for the abandoned iron works there. It was for her to film them as part of her final year project. I went along for the chance to take a few pictures. The site was even better than we had been expected with abandoned cottages and bits of old mill dating back about 150 years or more. Along the way we came across this pretty little waterfall.

Lylaclily Venue dressing photos

On arriving home from university I was asked to take a few photos for a family run wedding venue dressing business. Lylaclily venue dressing is a new company set up to cover the Kentish area with a wide range of venue dressing items to rent. They offer a full dressing service or a do-it-yourself rental. The selection of items available is excellent and they offer a friendly personal touch. This is just a small selection of what is on offer.

The sashes come in many different colours to suit the taste of the wedding, but can also be used to adorn chairs for events such as christenings, formal functions or birthday parties. It was a blast getting to do something a bit different and I hope the business is a success.
